GST Update: E-Way Bill Changes Delayed!
If your logistics team was stressing over the new e-Way Bill (EWB) rules, here is some good news. The GST Network has officially extended the compliance deadline from June 15 to August 1, 2026.
As your compliance partners, here is a quick, jargon-free summary of what you need to prepare for:
1. Mandatory “Ship To GSTIN”
- For “Bill-To/Ship-To” transactions, you must now capture the exact “Ship To GSTIN” when generating the bill.
- Shipping to an unregistered consumer? Simply enter “URP” in the GSTIN field.
2. Voluntary EWB Closure
- A new feature lets you officially “close” an e-Way Bill in the portal once the goods are delivered.
- This can be done by the supplier, recipient, transporter, or even the driver.
- The catch? It must be closed on the day of delivery or the very next day.
What you should do next: Use this extension to update your ERP software, clean up your customer master data, and train your dispatch team before August. Don’t wait until the last week of July!
